What makes the Vault different
These are not dictionary definitions.
Every name in the Vault has its own text: a flowing paragraph on where the name comes from, what it means, the historical bearers who carried it and the people who carry it now. Each one is researched and checked against published sources, among them eDIL, CELT, Ó Corráin and Maguire's Irish Names, Woulfe's Sloinnte Gaedheal is Gall and the Dictionary of Irish Biography. A full sourcing audit of the whole collection was completed in July 2026.
The artwork sets the name in the Celtic uncial script tradition with original knotwork ornament designed by Maggi Geraghty of Mayo Calligraphy.

Is my name in the Vault?

Do the names have to be Gaelic?
No. The Vault covers names as they are lived in Ireland. Gaelic names like Aoife and Oisín sit beside biblical, English, Norse, Norman and modern international names such as Sarah, Robert and Taylor, each with its own researched story.
